Early Career and Rise Through the Ranks

Born on March 22, 2001, in Latvia, Artūrs Šilovs began his hockey journey in his home country. He quickly rose through the ranks, impressing scouts with his exceptional goaltending skills.

ECHL Success with Trois-Rivières Lions

After a successful tenure in Latvia, Šilovs made the leap to North America, joining the Trois-Rivières Lions of the ECHL in the 2021-22 season. In his first season with the Lions, he emerged as a standout performer, posting an impressive 19-8-5 record and a 2.51 GAA.

Vancouver Canucks Acquisition

Šilovs' impressive performance in the ECHL caught the attention of the Vancouver Canucks, who signed him to an entry-level contract in April 2022. The Canucks identified him as a promising prospect with the potential to develop into a top-flight goaltender in the NHL.

AHL Experience and NHL Debut

During the 2022-23 season, Šilovs split time between the Canucks' AHL affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks, and the NHL team. In the AHL, he demonstrated his skills with a 13-7-0 record and a 2.93 GAA. He made his NHL debut on January 21, 2023, becoming the first Latvian-born goaltender to appear in an NHL game.
