Finch has spent the past 13 seasons as an assistant coach with the Houston Rockets, New Orleans Hornets, and Denver Nuggets. He also served as the head coach of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the NBA G League affiliate of the Rockets, from 2016 to 2019. Under Finch's leadership, the Vipers won the G League championship in 2019.
